I have two adult daughters in their early twenties. Just few years ago they were teenagers and had some remarkable Uranus transits which reinforced their rebellious time as teenagersđ. Lately, my husband also had an Uranus transit to his sun where he reunited with his biological father after 50 years!! Thus Uranus shakes our world and when it interferes with the Sun, it is typically father figures or other male figures which are challenged. Sudden things happen and we try to break free. Jessica Davidson has some really nice posts on uranus transits – here is the one in relation to the Sun. Below, I will try to give an account on how my teenage daugthers lifes were affected during such a transit.
I have always claimed that they were very nice girls who behave properly. And they do!! However, exactly 7 years ago my oldest daughter had Uranus transiting opposed to her sun, while my youngest daughter had Uranus transiting conjunct sun, moon and soon to be Mercury. Uranus is a disruptive influence. We want to break free, be original and make sudden actions. Even though my youngest had three planets effected with the transit, it was definitely my oldest daughter who was challenged by the transit. This was manifested in several ways and with the sun being effected; it was her relationships with men and her individuality, which was interrupted. She felt completely suffocated by her father. She bitches and snapped at her dad which I had never seen before. Now, her father is a Scorpio and does indeed have a tendency of being controlling and suffocating. I know that from experienceJ. He got angry with her about boys and school stuff whereas I understood most of her situations with boys (this is also a cultural thing. In Scandinavia parents are much more accepting towards teenage relationships), and though I could also get annoyed with her if she was sloppy with her school, I always tried to help her. I tried to show her how to structure her days, and explain the importance of doing her school work to her. I think she most of the time seem to understand that. The next thing happening to her was that she wanted out of a relationship with a boy in Denmark. They were seeing each other the entire year before we moved to the US back then, and he didnât want to let her go. Well, he still doesnât. Even though my daughter has loved him a lot, she suddenly told him off. He then wrote her a nice letter. She asked him who he thought he was!! Gosh.
The culmination – a situation strongly influenced by Uranus
As I have already claimed my oldest daughter is normally a sweet, obedient girl – or now woman – but she wanted to break out of this at the time of transiting Uranus opposing her Sun.
One evening, we had a particular situation in our family. She asked me if a guy from school could swing by and have Halloween dinner with us. Our family from Denmark was here and at first I didnât think it was a good idea, and definitely not when I was asked the night before at 11pm, and she needed an answer immediately. She completely flipped at me. She said that she was never allowed to do anything, that everybody was trying to control her. At the same time she had the boy on facetime witnessing the entire scene. Then I had to step up. There was no way she could act like that. She had to calm down, and understand how the situation was for the rest of us. We had my entire family listening to the scene too, and it kind of killed to good mood everybody was in. That was sooo difficult for her to understand. She screamed and cried. Since then I have learned that she has started telling her English teacher off at school too, and she suddenly fell from an A to a C+. But it is not her fault, it is her âstupidâ English teacher, she tells me. Goodness, did I spend all Friday talking calm sense into her, and tried to prevent her father from getting really angry: well I guess that is just the wonders of a Uranus opposition. She is really trying to get out of male ties, and she has a hard time doing it. I try to tell her to relax, be patient, it will be ok, no-one owns her anyway and she shouldnât be afraid of that.
The conjunction beeing more smooth – Uranus conjuct Sun
My youngest daughter on the other hand, had transiting Uranus conjunct her natal Sun at the same time. This manifested differently. She seemed to be having the time of her life!! She LOVES school, friends, the US, her father, EVERYTHING and she worked so hard, and had so much fun trying to get an A in all her honors classes. Amazing. I had actually never seen her shine so bright before. I guess that is the difference between an opposition and a conjunction where the conjunction becomes a part of you. And this is the reason why I am not always sure a conjunction is a hard transit, as in difficult. Even though, I remember my own Uranus transit conjunct sun to be somewhat difficult, it appeared to be different for my youngest daughter. At least until the second direct course of Uranus – it went retrograde and back direct over her sun – at this time we moved back to Denmark but her father stayed in the US. This was sudden and disruptive for her. However, she stayed in the ‘having a good time’ attitude and mood during the entire Uranus transit to her natal Sun.
Do you have any experiences with Uranus transits to your Sun?
